The website describes this material by stating that, "unlike petroleum plastics, PHAs are naturally occurring polymers produced by bacteria through the fermentation of plant derived oils, under specific nutrient conditions. Meredian’s products are not only functional, but are completely biodegradable in soil, water, or if discarded as litter."

Even better, the company explains how they support and prove a philosophy that "green" does not equal more expensive. It sounds like a perfect fit.
